Though lost to sight to memory dear.
Erected by Mark Laffan Ruanmore in memory of his mother Elenor Laffan alias Sinnott who departed this life 22nd February 1842 aged 39 years.
Beneath this silent tomb I sleep
Short was my life long is my rest
Dear children do not for me weep
To take me from you God thought best
If upright worth and virtue claim a tear
Reader it is due to her who sleepeth here
Grateful , affectionate sincere kind
Her memory dear to those she left behind
I hope when you and I in glory meet
We will down our crown at Jesus feet.
