INSCRIPTION:
Sacred to the memory of the Rev. Wensley Bond D.D. who departed this life the 4th of Oct. 1820 aged 78 years.
He was 46 years rector of the union of Clough and held the deanery of Ross 39 years.
He followed the path pointed out by his saviour. The law of truth was in his mouth and iniquity was not found in his lips. He walked with God in peace and equity.
This tomb is erected by his disconsolate widow and children in token of their sincere esteem for the best of parents and the most affectionate husband.
