In loving memory of rifleman John Pierce A coy. 4th Batt. New Zealand rifle brigade 10th reinforcement New Zealand expeditionary forces died 19th July 1916 from wounds received on Somme in France [ in action].
His brother Ernest Pierce died 2nd April 1971.
