INSCRIPTION:
Till the day dawn and the shadows flee away. Here rest the precious remains of Sophia beloved and devoted wife of Revd. J.H.Browne who entered into rest 3rd Sept. 1857 at Luss Loch Lomond aged 23 years.
Her to live was Christ and to died was gain. Precious in the sight of the lord is the death of his saints, her whole experience may be summed up in the following words which are her inscribed at her own request.
Surely goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the lord for ever.
Also Henry Jemmet infant son of the Revd. J.H.Browne and his wife Sophia , a treasure given 17th August , recalled 27th September 1856.
Ere sin could blight or sorrow fade death came with friendly care the op'ning bud to heaven, conveyed and bade it blossom there.
They shall be mine said the lord of hosts in that day I will awake up my jewels'.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Ps. 17.15., Rev.22.20.
