INSCRIPTION:
In memory of Major General Thomas Brownrigg of the honourable The East India Company service , Bombay who died at his seat at Medophall on the 3rd of February 1808 aged 54 years.
Erected by his nephew and friend Thomas Smith Esqr. of Medophall in gratefull remembrance of him.
Here also rest the remains of his brother Henry Brownrigg Esqr. J.P. of Norris Mount who died the 10th of November 1816 aged 61 years.
As an upright Magistrate and an honest man he gained the respect and enjoyed the confidence of all who knew him.
